Singapore, 15th October 2023 – HAKOVO announced Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (日本経済産業省), JETRO (The Japan External Trade Organization 日本貿易振興機構) awarded HAKOVO and TradeWaltz as PROOF-OF-CONCEPTS (POC) company for overseas supply chain diversification support project to establish digitalised End to End Trade Platform for Japan–Indonesia Trade Corridor.

In order to strengthen the supply chain resilience of Japan and ASEAN, the awarded project completely aligns with Japan government initiative between Japan and ASEAN for creating a roadmap for digitizing trade procedures. The Japan government agreed on an action plan, including policy for formulating a roadmap, at the Japan-ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting in Indonesia at the end of August 2023.

HAKOVO and TradeWaltz have agreed to demonstrate the POC of cross-border document data exchange for importation into Indonesia through API integration between HAKOVO uNified Customs Clearing House (uCCH) and TradeWaltz Platform. The POCs will help the Exporters, Importers, Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders, and Local Truckers to obtain digital information at real time, contribute to reduce costs of international trade, facilitate the enhancement of environmental logistics and global value chain, and support the National Digital Transformation Program’s excellence in government performance. In addition, HAKOVO provides a Dual-Cycle digitalised operation for container truck together with local digital partners in Indonesia. The benefits to Indonesia market are; (i) Reduced Carbon Footprint – carbon emissions is lower compared to using a single mode. (ii) Better vendor management and monitoring – Indirect Costs Saving from less wasted time. (iii) Digitalised trucking and transactions – Standardized Procurement across the region. (iv) Less Congestion – Reduce road and traffic congestion, which can lead to smoother traffic flow and lower emissions from idling vehicles.

Successful POCs may accelerate economy growth in the region.
